(1)WHY this site?
I’ve liked Vans since the 6th grade and Nikki seems to be one of the most forward thinkers there when it comes to social media.

About:

Vans has several Twitter handles but the one I’m most impressed with is Nikki’s (@vans_66). Nikki talks about everything under the sun including jobs, products, contests, upcoming events, new releases and even “soccer hooilgans in wheelchairs”. Sometimes you can tell she just doesn’t have enough time and ends up only replying to others but most of the time she is creative, witty and she engages her audience of skaters, bikers, and other people who like “old school” clothing.

Using Tweetstats.com I found some interesting statitists about @Vans_66:

  • The Web is used for most updates. Twirl, Tweetie, Hootsuite, Twitterfeed, Twitpic, Twitterific, Twitterfon, & Blip.fm are also used.
  • Most tweets are done around noon.
  • Friday is the most popular day for tweeting.
  • 1.6% of tweets are retweets.
  • 59.7% of tweets are replies.
  • Avg. 11.3 tweets per day!

Twittercounter.com also revealed a fascinating piece of information:

  • @Vans_66 is expected to have 9,573 followers in 30 days if they keep up at the rate they’re going .

Web addresses would be better suited in the background.

E. Conclusion

(E.1)Whats done well: Conversation is interesting and can be rewarding (contests). The author discloses her name.

Whats missing: Twitter not well advertised on Web site. No author and contact information on the left side of Twitter background. Links that are in the BIO would better fit in the background image so that BIO can be used for keywords.

(E.2) Scorecard Summary

Background C Nothing special. Change most of it.
Avatar B Good. Would change a couple of things.
Bio C Great! Wouldn’t change a thing.
Transparency F Terrible. What were you thinking?
